About the course

Students will learn the basics of Modern Standard Arabic. This course is designed to be an easy introduction to Arabic for students both young and old.The curriculum emphasizes speaking and listening but reading and writing will also be taught for students aged 4 and above who are already literate in one language.

Students will learn to introduce themselves, exchange culturally appropriate greetings, the names of everyday objects, to construct simple sentences, express their likes and dislikes, ask for directions, basic grammar and more. Students will also learn about the history and the culture of the Arabic speaking world.

I like the approach of it, I like the hands-on action of it. I would recommend this format for study to anyone, honestly...everything in general was catered to anyone with the drive to do it. Overall, I realized that Arabic is not as hard as people make it out to be.

I was really impressed with our experience. I learned as much and as quickly and I was willing to put into studying. The teachers try to maintain an immersion environment but were fluent enough in English to explain concepts if we got really stuck.

At frist glance the Sinbad videos may seem silly and not relevant to adult learners. However, nothing could be further from the truth. The silliness of the videos has actually been proven through research to enhance their effectiveness as a a teaching tool. Over the course of the episodes, the series teaches very practical vocabulary in Modern Standard Arabic.
